How to Replace Headlight Bezel and Cover Assuming you haven't already removed it, your Firebird has a Pontiac logo on either its left headlight bezel or headlight cover. During 1982-90, the logo was put on the bezel and only visible when you turn on your
headlights. On 1991-92 Firebirds, the logo was put on the cover.
Removing this logo is very easy. If you have a 1982-90 Firebird, then replace both headlight bezels with ones from a 1991-92. If you have a 1991-92 Firebird, then just replace the left cover with one off a 1982-90.
Step 1: Open the Hood, Raise the Left Headlight Turn the knob next to the headlight counter-clockwise to raise the headlight. The knob should turn easily, so do not use excessive force. Stop when turning becomes more difficult.Step 2: Unscrew the Bezel The bezel has four torx screws, two on each side.Step 3: Remove the Bezel Remove the bezel by pulling the top down and toward you (like opening an oven door), then pull the bottom out.(to remove the cover - only needed on 1991-1992 Firebirds)
Step 4: Unbolt the Cover's Front BoltsAfter you have removed the bezel, you should see two 10 mm bolts which hold the front of the cover onto the assembly.Step 5: Lower the Headlight, Unbolt the Cover's Back Bolts Lower the headlight by turning the knob clockwise. Then, remove the two bolts that hold the back of the cover onto the assembly.Step 6: Remove the Cover Remove the cover by lifting straight up. Back to the KITT and KARR Replica How To Guides
