| Help Improve Knight Replicas with a Donation Hello, my name is Michael R. Brumm and I'm the creator of Knight Replicas. I hope that you, along with others like you, can help me achieve the goal of improving the this website and allow it to continue to serve the community of replica builder and enthusiasts.Six years ago, I realized the
information I collected about building my own knight replica might be useful to others, so I organized it into a website and KnightReplicas.com was born. Soon after, I added the database, forums, and picture library to help other replica builders display their progress and exchange information. It sure isn't cheap or easy to build a knight replica, but I'd like to think that I've saved some of you time (and maybe money) by providing all this information in a clear, concise, and organized
manner. Of course, a lot of people visit the website just to marvel at the cars on display and the hard work that goes into achieving big dreams and maybe you are one of them. As it turns out, I've become one of them, too. A lot has happened in my life in the last few years, and unfortunately I still haven't achieved my own dream of completing a replica of KITT. Ironically, my project sits in storage while I've seen a lot of other registrants in the database complete their replicas. While
I don't have the ability to work on my own knight replica right now, I do have the ability to improve this website. There are a lot of things I'd like to add, update, change, and fix. But, I cannot continue to do it alone. Already I've paid for the server and bandwidth out of my own pocket every month. And before that, I spent months creating the website. I think that my time and money has been well spent, because I see our numbers grow every day and our efforts continue to get noticed all
over the world! Support Your Knight Replicas Community I'm hoping that you agree and that you will also do your part to keep things going and help us build an even better website. I'm looking for donations of any amount (even $1 if that's all you can afford), but I will honor donations of $20 and $50 or more, in special ways. - Daily Features
Each day, a different knight replica will be featured on the main page. Gold members will be featured most often, then Silver members, and then high scoring Standard members. Faster Updates to the Database With the website as it is, I have to manually sort through the mountains of pictures and replicas submitted. There are a lot of people who submit bogus entries and pictures so it takes a lot of time and effort before new replicas
and pictures are made public. With a membership system, I could allow paid members to police themselves and thus allow very frequent updates to the website. Better Score System in the Database Right now, the scoring system (shown as a percentage bar in the database) is pretty arbitrary. Ideally, it is based on two things: the number of items you have found or purchased for your replica (and how difficult they
are to obtain and install), and a subjective bonus that is based on appearance and novelty. Obviously, there are instances when people cheat (and check off things they don't have) and the subjective bonus is wrong. With a membership system, paid members could rate other replicas (like eBay's reputation system) and make the scoring system more fair. Expansion of the Picture Library Only 14 of the 84 total episodes have gone through
the arduous effort required to capture screen shots. Each episode requires hours to capture and put in the library format. Updated Manufacturers The manufacturers listed next to parts in the guides are out of date and need revising. In addition, I may add a section to allow paid members to rate the various manufacturers.
